T'was a nice long 17-1/2 year run for Kingsley H. Smith as an NPR executive in Washington, DC. Working for a major network was a proud accomplishment.

Among duties that included the NPR Sirius Satellite Radio channels (now just one) and the NPR Worldwide satellite channel for Europe, other responsibilities included the day-to-day operation of NPR's only locally owned FM Station, NPR Berlin, Germany.

Operation oversight eventually switched from NPR to KCRW in Santa Monica, CA in 2017. KCRW ended the NPR Berlin operation in December 2020.

Here's part of a short live 2014 segment with Kingsley and WAMU FM "Hot Jazz Saturday Night" host Rob Bamberger in NPR Washington, DC Studios during NPR's Morning Edition. It's morning in DC and afternoon in Berlin, Germany.
