WNYU AM 810 was heard in the NYU dormitories and the Washington Square student center in NYC. WNYU FM was licensed to New York University and broadcast at 89.1 Monday through Friday from 4 PM to 1 AM.

In other hours WNYU FM's on-air frequency was shared with Fairleigh Dickinson University who operates WFDU FM in New Jersey. WNYU, a non profit, noncommercial public radio station was operated and managed by NYU students.

Bonus 1: Here is a 2nd WNYU AM 810 aircheck two years later. You decide if Kingsley improved. He is still two years away from his first professional on-air radio gig.

Bonus 2: Approximately one year later (after Bonus 1 above), WNYU FM launched. While still a student, Kingsley developed an excellent skill for audio production, as you'll hear in these four promos he created for WNYU-FM's music magazine show. He does the majority of the voices including the intros. Tricky work, long before digital audio editing.
