1) A Welcome to Our New Listeners and Subscribers

Thanks for checking us out. Not including our holiday music, the Powerhouse Radio playlist should reach 1,000 songs fairly soon. That's about three to four times as large as the average radio station.

Speaking of the holidays, in December, we'll be doing our second annual non-stop holiday music special from December 18th to December 25th.

We've got a great spectacular planned within the month of February, 2003. More info to come in January.

If you've never tried FabFourSoul, you'll love the change of pace. Just go to:

2021 Update: Live stream sunset in 2016

and choose any of the players underneath of the "Listen to FabFourSoul Section."

FabFourSoul is the most unique collection of R&B/jazz/pop songs you'll ever find.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our 9-11 tribute.

2) How to Listen to Internet Radio on your Home Stereo

We received such a positive response to our comprehensive article in July about "How to Listen to Internet Radio On Your Home Stereo," that we're going to reprint the article, just in time for the holidays.

It's amazing how great Internet radio can sound if you connect your computer directly to your stereo receiver. Using a cable, (rather than buying a wireless transmitter), is the cheapest way to do this.

You may not be able to do this listening at work, but at home, it's fantastic!

We'll reprint the article early in December.

3) Hot Buttered Soul with a New Attitude

Coming soon, just in time for Thanksgiving, a chance for you to win some tasty tunes from some very talented R&B music gourmets!

Be listening to Powerhouse Radio soon for all the details:

4) Music News: Motown Christmas

The biggest names in music will come together to headline a special holiday concert event, "A Motown Christmas," on the USA Cable TV Network. The all-star musical lineup includes performances by Motown legends...

1) Stevie Wonder and The Temptations, along with
2) India.Arie
3) Brian McKnight
4) Vanessa Carlton, and more.

The special will air Sunday, Dec. 8, at 8 pm Eastern.

5) Top 10 R&B Artists of All Time

I recently posted this list to an online discussion forum:

The top ten R&B artists of all time based upon their influence, impact, and talent (not necessarily record sales)

1. Michael Jackson
2. Earth Wind and Fire
3. Stevie Wonder
4. Diana Ross (& with the Supremes)
5. Aretha Franklin
6. Commodores (& Lionel Richie solo)
7. Kool & the Gang
8. Isley Brothers
9. Temptations
10. Luther Vandross

If you had to pick only 10, who would be on your list? I originally put the Ohio Players at number 8, but then booted them of the list in favor of the Isley Brothers. Was I wrong?

6) Recent Additions To Powerhouse Radio's Music

Here's where to find all of the recent additions to Powerhouse Radio's Music:

2021 Update: General online playlist sunset in 2016.

The Powerhouse Radio Holiday Xmas Playlist is still online.

You can search through the playlist by artist name, by song title, or by partial keywords. The most recent additions are always at the bottom of the list.

Holiday music, and the FabFourSoul playlist are not included at this time.

8) Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood: Lyric Power

Courtesy of The Archive of Misheard Lyrics at
amiright.com

Song: Killing Me Softly With His Song
Artist: Roberta Flack

The real lyrics:
"Strumming my pain with his fingers"
Misheard as all of these:

a) Drumming my bag with his fingers

b) Struggling my baby with this fingers

c) Strumming my face with his fingers

d) Strumming my bed with his fingers

(OK, I'll admit, I'm guilty of hearing "c" myself!
